About Dr. Raymond Dunn

Dr. Dunn is a graduate of; Florida A& M Univ., B. S. Degree, Univ. of Miami, M. Ed. Degree, Nova Southeastern Univ., Ed. D. Degree and further studies at Fla. Atlantic Univ.  He is an educator, college administrator, community activist, an author of children story books and the Co-host of the pod/video cast “Through Black Eyes Unfiltered”.  Dr. Dunn served as Dean of Student Services for two colleges, adjunct professor, Nova Southeastern University graduate school and a fulltime professor at Broward College.  He was instrumental in initiating two academic programs to enhance the college graduation rate of minority males; The Challenge Center at Miami Dade Community College and the Community of Leaners Achieving Student Success {CLASS} at Broward Community College.

Awarded a one million dollars USAID grant in 1988, Dr. Dunn headed a consulting team for the U.S. State Department and the Haitian Embassy-consultation on the restructuring of the higher education system in Haiti.  In 1991 he spearheaded a consulting team to Trinidad and Tobago to develop and implement a Student Services Program for NIHERST.  From 1981 to 1995 he served as a member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation team {SACS}.  Dr. Dunn was a part owner and President of the Board of the private school “The Heritage School of Miami Shores”.

Dr. Dunn’s community involvement includes; Pres. of the Board of Directors, Dade County {4-C’s} Community Coordinated Child Care Program, Charter Member of The Model Cities Optimist Club, Member North Dade Chamber of Commerce, Member 500 Role Models of Excellence Program, Member Family Christian Association of America board of directors- providing Head Start, after school care, health and wellness sports and youth development services for the underprivileged.  He is a Member of the Sunshine State Amateur Golfers Assoc. which awards scholarships to graduating seniors and professional golf lessons to youth ages 4-18 years.

Dr. Dunn was the founder and president of the North Dade Improvement Association which was successful in acquiring streetlights, sidewalks and a first- rate park for the minority community of Bunch Park.  His organization was also successful in preventing the U.S. Coast Guard from building a holding facility in the North Dade County residential community.
